Who’s eligible to join the WVCN?
Those eligible to join the West Virginia Creative Networks members include:
- West Virginian artists, arts organizations, and creatively based businesses who want a deeper connection to our state’s creative community, more visibility for their work, and/or more opportunities to grow in their arts career.
- West Virginian expats and other non-resident artists, organizations, and businesses who have ties with the Mountain State, wish to stay connected to West Virginia’s creative community. Out of state members are accepted to the Create and Champion membership levels and on a case by case basis.
Can I be a member if I don’t live in West Virginia?
Yes, however out-of-state members must choose from one of our paid membership tiers.
While we are called the West Virginia Creative Network (WVCN), we welcome creatives from surrounding regions or former West Virginia residents who want to stay connected to the state’s thriving creative economy.

What happens after I apply?
After applying, our team will review your application to ensure you meet all requirements. This typically takes 5-7 business days. Once accepted, you will receive a welcome email with instructions to create your profile.
What happens if a member moves out of West Virginia?
We get it—moving is a big life change. If you have a Free Membership and you move out of state:
- You’ll be offered the opportunity to upgrade to a paid membership tier.
- WVCN offers a 90-day grace period to make this transition—because moving is hard, and we believe in flexibility.
- After 90 days, if you haven’t upgraded, your Free Membership will be deactivated.
