About Olivia Perske

Olivia Perske is a singer and teacher of singing, based in Elkins, WV. After graduating from West Virginia Wesleyan, Olivia began working as an elementary music teacher. This role includes K-5 general music, 4/5th grade choir, and 5th grade band. Olivia is a leader among her colleagues, organizing the annual All-County Elementary Choir, and the annual Solo and Ensemble Recital. She also serves as the secretary of the WV Society of General Music, the organization responsible for awarding the WV Music Educator of the Year Award. In 2022, Olivia founded and continues to direct the Voices of Augusta Children’s Choir through the internationally-acclaimed Augusta Heritage Center. This work has blossomed into a monthly Community Sing, which Olivia programs and co-leads. These gatherings focus on communal singing within the folk and traditional music genres. Olivia and her husband Tyler direct the choir at Davis Memorial Presbyterian, which roots her in her reason for singing – to connect and uplift people of all different walks of life.
