About India Thakar
Growing up, drawing was a medium I always came back to. All I needed was a pencil, and a piece of paper. Whether it was drawing my friends and family, some flowers, or a scene in my mind, drawing allowed me to both express my emotions, and tell stories. As I got older and changed, my art focus also evolved. Now, I specialize in painting (particularly oil), and continue to tell stories through photography, film, and even music. Though the focus of work varies, much of it draws on my own experience living within the Indian diaspora in the US, and the rural countryside of which I was born.
