Heather Sanchez is a West Virginia based artist whose work is rooted in color, texture, and personal expression. Influenced by her Appalachian upbringing and the cultural traditions present within her family, she creates handcrafted polymer clay jewelry that blends bold design with a modern, elevated feel.

Her work is known for its layered detail, vibrant palettes, and one of a kind nature. No two pieces are ever exactly alike. Through her art, Heather explores creativity as both a personal outlet and a way to connect with others.

She is also the founder of Mariposa Hollow, a creative space where she shares her work and is building a place for others to connect, learn, and create.

Artist Statement

I create handcrafted polymer clay jewelry with a focus on layered detail, unique color combinations, and pieces that feel expressive but still easy to wear.

I’m especially drawn to movement and depth in my designs, often inspired by natural elements, shifting color, and the idea that no two things are ever exactly alike. Growing up in West Virginia, that appreciation for natural beauty and variation has always been part of how I see and create, and it often shows up in my Mountain Mama designs and Appalachian inspired pieces.

That naturally carries into my work, where every piece is one of a kind. My palettes can range from bold and vibrant to soft and subtle, depending on the story behind the piece. Creating started as a personal outlet, but it has grown into something much more meaningful. Through my work, I’ve found a way to connect with others, share creativity, and build something that continues to evolve alongside me.
